SCM Consultancy is all about working with the whole team (managers, developers,
testers, analysts, production) to produce an efficient and effective development process. It should focus on implementing cost effective,
pragmatic solutions with a minimum of red tape and resistance.
It is often a temptation for organisations to try and go in one step from chaotic "free for all" development processes to a rigorous managed process. There is a strong risk of alienating developers if this is done too quickly. Much better to address the problems and issues in a series of small steps, focussing on the quick wins and
appropriate education.
